Frequently Asked Questions

Q. With the Influenza pandemic (H1N1), is it still advisable to join the camp?

We would advise all who have returned from affected countries (United States of America, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Chile, United Kingdom, Japan, Spain, Argentina, Panama, Philippines, Thailand, Dominican Republic, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia)to stay away from camp within 7 days of their return. Those who are unwell should not participate in camp too. Temperature taking and declaration by participants on day one is important and will be conducted daily during UOC itself. So, freshies and seniors, please bring along your thermometer to camp!

Q.Will I definitely get into UOC’09 since I’m one of the earliest to sign up for this camp?

All applications that reach UOC’09 committee via postage or email by 12 July will have a fair chance of being selected into our camp. When the number of applicants far exceeds our vacancies, balloting will be conducted. The camp application outcome should be known to all successful applicants by 15 July.

Q. Is it necessarily for me to send in the indemnity form together with my application form, especially when I’m sending in through email?

The OGLs will arrange a specific day with their respective group freshies to collect the indemnity forms and the camp fee from you. You can hand in your indemnity form then if you had not sent it in earlier.

Q. If I’ve something to attend to on one of the camp date, can I just go off and join the group once I’m done?

If the matter is official and deem necessary by UOC’09 committee, you can always go ahead with it. Just remember to inform your GL beforehand.
