UOC'09 Seniors' Camp

Displaying of UOC'09 banners & posters

The publicity materials of UOC'09 are out and are hanging around the school campus. Thanks to the effort of Kai Xiang, Zave and Mindy. :) Wellsh, Zave even had to become a makeshift chair 'cos we're all too lazy to borrow one from Canteen B, which was quite a distance away from our displaying venue. Anyway, that's termed as innovation, yea? hahaZ!

11th Meeting & June babies' b'dae celebration! :)

It's UOC'09 chairman, Zave and chief group leader, Charlie's birthday this month. Of course, it's also the very last meeting for the planning committee members before the actual commencement of the camp. Wellsh, with all the meticulous planning and hardwork put in, freshies this year can definitely look forward to an exciting and adrenaline-rushing 7 days long camp filled with lots of laughter and team spirit! So freshies, do grab this chance and sign up for UOC'09, the biggest orientation camp in NTU!!

Final Canvassing - Union Fundrasing Golf Challenge :)

UOC'09 final canvassing activity ended with a big bang! Thanks to the many months of planning and effort from our chairperson, Zave and Chief Business Manager, Frank. :) Not forgetting those who helped out in this golf fundraising..from the packing of hundreds of goodies bags, to the registration of those businessmen during the actual day to the dinner cum performance. Well, let's look forward to the senior camp which is coming this early July. =)

10th Meeting cum May Babies' Birthday Celebration

It's our UOC'09 10th meeting! In another 2 months time, the camp will be here. Can't wait for the start of the camp. It's the labour of the entire committee effort..all the time spent, all the brain juice used. :) wellsh, we're also celebrating Hui Yee and Jia Wei's birthday. Supposedly, Crystal Chen should be here to join in the celebration as well but she isn't able to make it. Aniwae, happie burfdae to these May babies!! =)

March Babies' B'dae Celebration!!

Canvassing 5 - City Alive!

It's one week into the Chinese New Year already! Now we e UOC ppl are involved as the crowd control ppl in this Singapore biggest street dance party - City Alive! but before that, we had to do up the lanyards, attaching boxes after boxes of lightsticks to these lanyards. It's a dash against time as we hope to complete it quickly so we've much time to slack. But it didnt turn out this way. The thousands of lightsticks and lanyards juz seemed endless. BUT we did complete dem eventually and it's much fun, joy & laughter after that! lol

Canvassing 4- Selling of Cny goodies

The time of the year for us ppl to collect angbao is juz round e corner! But over here we're thinking of ways to raise even more money to make the coming UOC'09 even better. So here we haf e selling of Cny goodies, ranging from all e different flavours cookies to the much loved Bua Kwa. Jia you!! We'll sell all that we can and get even more orders coming in. WOOT!!

Canvassing 3 - Garang Guni Collection

Another inching step into raising more funds for the upcoming camp. All the perspiration in exchange for a better accomadation and food just for our UOC'09 freshies. It's worth it all.

Canvassing 2 - X'mas Carolling

After all the many reshearsals, we're finally ready for the carolling at Snow City. Braving the freezing temperature, we sang our very best while Mun Fong, the emcee, cracked his cold jokes which no one laughs other than himself. hahaZ!! We had great fun, going down the slide, either in pairs or in groups. Ohh..those ice surely melt Kai Xiang's butt. His pants were "raining ice" after that. And poor Brinda whose white shirt became black and dirty due to all the iceballs throwing. Anyway, we still have more canvassing activities coming up. Let's bring in even more funds to this year UOC, man!! =)

Burfdae Celebration For Nov & Dec babies

MacRitchie Tree Top Walk

The very first outing of UOC'09 committee was none other than MacRitchie Tree Top walk. Woot!! What a way to de-stress after our brain-draining examination! Now we're working out our mucles physically. We even had a mini-pinic high up in the Jelutong Tower, enjoying the bird's eye view as we're munching away the love-filled sandwiches made by Zave, the cakes brought by Charlie and so many more. After our hearty and filling lunch, we proceeded. However, there was a surprise attack on one of our UOC'09 programmer, Si Ping. A group of monkeys went in her direction and jumped at the rubbish bag which she was holding. Luckily, she was quick thinking enough to drop the plastic bag and flee the battlefield. Such a close shave indeed. Erm..let's share with you one final thing. Roslyn, our teasurer, was the most zai. Carrying her tote bag and wearing only her slippers, she completed the trek effortlessly!! No wonder some of us teased her, saying that she looked more like going shopping then trekking. Well, perhaps shopping does train one's stamina. Hasn't Roslyn proven that? LOL.

First Aid Course

Union Orientation Camp (UOC) may all be about fun and frienship for the freshies, but the most important aspect is still safety amidst these fun-filled excitement. One of the most logical and professional way is for us, the seniors (without 1st aid knowledge or expired certification) to attend a Standard First Aid Training. So, the first 2 days of our December were spent learning how to give treatment to someone who is choking, performing Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as well as bandaging among the other skills and knowledge taught by Melisa (our instructor) from Raffles Medical Group.

Guess what food we had? Well, it's MacDonald's fast food! Yeah, man!! But, don't envy us just yet...Because imagine having burgers and fries for all meals continuously for a couple of days. With all the greasy oil and all the carbohydrate loading, most of us dread eating Mac after that. Erm..well, at least for a week. After all, who can really resist the temptation of fast food? hahaZ!!
